About Wacky weeds

August in the valley is when weeds get ambitious — crabgrass in the seams, something purple-flowered behind the garage, a jungle grown out of one week of heat and river humidity. Wacky weeds takes that personally. The work is mowing, trimming, edging and cutting the overgrowth back off walks and fence lines until a yard around Hooper Road looks like somebody lives there on purpose. The pleasure is in the last look back from the truck: sharp edges, one even green, the driveway swept clean. Lawn care for Union and nearby, with a sense of humor about what grows here.
