Some winter mornings in Tupper Lake begin well below zero, the air so still that snow squeaks underfoot and woodsmoke rises straight up from every chimney. This old lumber town sits deep in the Adirondacks, and the storms that blanket the slopes of Big Tupper bury Park Street and every lane off it. Treebusters takes on that snow, clearing driveways and paths so the trucks can get out and the kids can reach the bus. A drive cut wide between tall white walls, the last pass leaving a clean, flat floor, feels like a door thrown open on a frozen world.
