Land Clearing and Yard Maintenance Crew

About Land Clearing and Yard Maintenance Crew

Down in Port Morris and Mott Haven the ground remembers being industrial — brick, bluestone, sumac shouldering up through a gap in the pavement, the Bronx Kill just past the end of the block. Land Clearing and Yard Maintenance Crew takes those lots and yards in hand: clearing overgrowth and brush, cutting grass, edging, trimming, pulling out debris and hauling it off, then keeping the space mowed once it is back. There is a particular pleasure in the before and after — waist-high weeds at eight in the morning, open level ground by afternoon. Summer heat sits heavy between the warehouses and shade is scarce, and the work goes on regardless. What gets left behind is usable ground, which in this part of the borough counts for a great deal.
