The Bronx River runs the length of the borough, past Starlight Park and Concrete Plant Park, and the neighborhoods along it have been growing things beside that water for a long time. Grass & Yard Services Bronx works the corridor — mowing, edging, trimming, bed cleanups and hauling through the green months, then plowing, shoveling and de-icing driveways and walks once the cold takes charge. A river valley holds the chill, so the first frost and the last one both land a little harder here. The trade is knowing what the ground wants in April and what the pavement wants in January. Both jobs finish the same way: a clean surface, and someone who no longer has to think about it.
