Able Landscaping and Tree Care

About Able Landscaping and Tree Care

Up at the top of the borough, where Van Cortlandt Park spills its meadow toward Woodlawn and Tibbetts Brook keeps talking under the ballfields, the growing season starts earlier than people expect. Able Landscaping and Tree Care works these blocks — mowing, edging, string trimming and hauling the yard back into shape once the last frost lets go. There is a real satisfaction in a lawn cut in clean parallel bands, the border sliced straight against the sidewalk slate. Come winter the same trucks turn to plowing driveways and clearing walks, salting the steep little aprons off Katonah Avenue before the first commuters reach the 4 train. Snow up here arrives quietly and stays; the answer is to be out in it early.
