Yardsmith

About Yardsmith

From the hill at Burnet Park the whole city lies out below, and in March you can watch it change color — snowbanks going gray, then brown grass, then, almost overnight, green. Yardsmith works both ends of that view. Winter means driveways and lots plowed open, walks shoveled, salt on the shaded slabs where meltwater refreezes by evening. Summer means the mowing, the trimming, the edges cut clean along the walks, and the cleanups that bookend the season. Syracuse asks a property to survive a hundred-odd inches of snow and still look presentable by Memorial Day, and doing both takes the same eye and the same habit of turning up.
