About Clovis Outdoor Services

When a nor'easter climbs the north shore, Stony Brook takes it off the water first — wet heavy snow blowing in over the harbor, salt in the air, drifts stacking against every east-facing door. Clovis Outdoor Services runs snow removal through nights like that, plowing driveways, opening walks and lots, spreading salt where ice sets up hard on the sloped village streets. Sound-side storms are their own animal, quick to melt and quicker to refreeze, so the job doesn't end when the flakes do. The measure of it all is a driveway open at six in the morning: gray light on clean blacktop, the car out without a shovel ever coming off its hook. That's the entire point of the long night.
