A nor'easter reaches Grymes Hill before it reaches anywhere else, and it leaves the steepest driveways on the island behind it. Howard Avenue and the lanes off Ward Hill run at angles that turn four inches of snow into a genuine problem by morning. Loffreno Landscaping is out in the middle of that — plowing down to the surface, cutting the banks back from the apron, shoveling steps and walks, laying salt where the grade would otherwise send a car sideways.
