About Bastian Lawn and Landscape, LLC

The Hudson lies just west of Staatsburg, wide and slate-colored, and the Catskills stand beyond it like a low blue wall. Bastian Lawn and Landscape works the properties that climb from that riverbank up toward Old Post Road, mowing through the long green weeks and plowing those same driveways once the year turns hard. There is a particular satisfaction in a lawn cut clean to its border, the line between grass and bed drawn as if with a straightedge. There is another in a drive opened at five in the morning, the banks squared off, the asphalt dark and waiting before anyone has woken. Weather crosses the water fast here, and the growing season arrives just as suddenly. Bastian meets both with a mower, a plow truck, and the habit of finishing what the sky starts.
