Summer light lingers a long time along the St. Lawrence, and the river wind keeps the grass on the flats green well past when heat would burn it out elsewhere. Levesque Lawn Care mows through the community at the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation — weekly cuts, trimming around posts and stone, edging the walks, cleanups once the frost lets go in spring and again when the poplars and maples drop all at once. The ground is level here and the lawns run wide, which makes for long straight passes and a great deal of sky overhead. There is deep satisfaction in a yard finished at dusk, with the river still holding light behind it.
