There is an hour in early summer, just after seven, when Spring Valley's maples still hold the night's cool and the grass is heavy with dew — a good hour to start mowing. BH Landscaping keeps village lawns on a rhythm through that season: cutting, string-trimming the fence lines and hydrant collars, edging the sidewalk seam, blowing the clippings back off the concrete. Summers arrive humid and green here, and a lawn can put on a week of growth in four days, so the schedule matters as much as the machine. Spring and fall bring the other half of the year — leaves off the beds, the last cut left a shade shorter for winter.
