About Nature's Guardian Inc.

In October the geese come down over Conscience Point and the whole north side of Southampton sounds like weather. Nature's Guardian Inc. is out under that noise doing lawn care — the autumn passes that decide what a yard looks like next May, the cut held a little longer, the leaves taken off the turf before they mat. The low bay light at that hour finds every ragged border, which is reason enough to keep the borders sharp. It is unglamorous work and it holds: grass that comes through the cold dense instead of thin. Southampton and its northern reaches, from North Sea across to Water Mill and Bridgehampton.
