About Jackson Dodds & Company, Inc.

The morning after a storm, the light over Southampton comes up blue along Gin Lane and Meadow Lane, and the long hedge-lined drives are already open. Jackson Dodds & Company, Inc. does the night work that makes that possible — plowing drives and lots, clearing walks and entries, spreading salt and sand where the ocean damp freezes hardest. Storms here often ride the rain line, which means heavy wet snow, then a crust, then whatever the wind pushes back across the pavement; one pass is never the whole story. Gateposts, gravel edges and narrow turns all have to be respected in the dark. By sunrise the ground is bare and the place looks like nothing happened at all, which is exactly the point.
