Keen Services

About Keen Services

February in Amawalk: ice fog off the reservoir, the causeway gone pale, every sound closer than it ought to be. Keen Services runs the plow through that, taking driveways down to the pavement and shoveling out the steps and the path to the mailbox before the cold can set what's left behind. There's a rhythm to a storm night — push, back up, push again, salt, move on — and it holds until the last property is open. The morning after a big one in Somers comes up bright and blinding, and the driveways are already black. The routes cover Somers and the nearby towns all winter.
