Card Excavating

About Card Excavating

The roads leaving Skaneateles do not stay flat for long — they tip up hard into the hills that hold the lake, and every driveway hung off them is a small climb of its own. Card Excavating works those grades in winter, clearing the pitched gravel and blacktop where a storm piles into the low bend and the wind scours the top bare. Come summer the same properties get mowed and kept, the grass cut clean out to the edge where the hillside falls away. There is a particular satisfaction in a steep drive opened top to bottom before the coffee has gone cold, and in a lawn that holds its line across sloping ground. Snow removal and lawn care, on land that never sits still.
