Selkirk lies back from the Hudson's west bank, where the fields tip toward the water and the rail yard lights burn all night. Redwood Landscape takes both halves of the year here — plowing driveways and clearing walks when the river valley funnels a storm through, salting where ice sets up hard, then mowing, trimming, edging and cleaning up yards once the ground softens. Winter weather comes down off the Catskills and camps along 9W, which means early starts and a route often run twice. Summer down toward Henry Hudson Park is all hum and green, the grass coming on strong in that bottomland soil. A cleared drive at daybreak and a lawn cut sharp by noon — the same pride, six months apart.
