About John Mennonna Landscaping and Lawn Care

Selden sits on sandy central-island ground that drains fast and dries faster, so July asks a lot of a lawn. John Mennonna Landscaping and Lawn Care answers with a steady hand — mowing at a height that holds moisture, trimming and edging clean along drives and walks, refreshing mulch, and running full cleanups when the season turns. Under the oaks that line these Suffolk County streets the shade is deep and the grass behaves differently than it does out in the open, and the work accounts for that. By late afternoon, when the heat sits still above the pavement, a mowed yard with sharp edges is the coolest-looking thing on the block. Come November the rakes come out and the leaves go.
