In June the wide lawns of the Realty Plot hold their dew until nearly nine, and every mower line shows in that light. Ambers Lawn and Garden Care works there and across Schenectady — mowing on a rhythm the grass can actually keep, trimming close around stone and step, edging the beds so a border reads as a line instead of a suggestion. The season opens with a raking-out: winter's litter pulled off, the turf given air, the beds redefined. It closes the same way in November, leaves taken up before they mat down and smother anything. The reward is a yard that looks tended from the sidewalk without ever announcing why.
