GGC’s Hickory Tree & Landscaping Design

About GGC’s Hickory Tree & Landscaping Design

Rock Hill wears its name well; the ground in this Sullivan County hamlet is ledge and boulder under a thin skin of forest soil, and every yard has to be worked around what the glaciers left behind. GGC's Hickory Tree & Landscaping Design treats that as a starting point rather than a problem, shaping lawns and plantings to fit the land as it is. Thoughtful design here might follow an outcrop instead of fighting it, or frame a view down through the hardwoods toward the lake roads off Route 17. In late October, when the shagbark hickories turn gold and the light slants low through the trees, a well-planned yard shows its bones. It is the art of making a rocky hillside feel like it was always meant to be a home.
