About Sterling Brooke Luscious Lawn Care & Firewood

Ridge sits in the heart of the Long Island Pine Barrens, where pitch pine and scrub oak grow straight out of sand and a green lawn is something coaxed rather than assumed. Sterling Brooke Luscious Lawn Care & Firewood mows and trims those yards through August, when the cicadas go loud in the afternoon and everything wants cutting at once. Autumn brings the other half of the year — raking down the oak leaf fall, clearing beds, putting properties to bed before the wind swings around off the Sound. Work spans Ridge and the neighboring hamlets of Rocky Point, Wading River, Middle Island and Shoreham. A tidy edge along a driveway in this sandy ground is worth stepping back to look at.
