Route 59 runs the length of Ramapo like a spine, Suffern to Nanuet, and the town's ordinary life happens along it — the storefronts, the side streets peeling off toward the ridges, traffic that never entirely stops. Route 59 Contracting works both halves of the year on the properties strung along that road: mowing, trimming and lawn upkeep from the first warm weeks until the leaves come down, then plowing and shoveling when winter takes the same ground. The turn is always abrupt here; one week it's grass clippings on the tailgate, the next it's watching the forecast for the first plowable inch. Keeping a property presentable in July and passable in January is really one job, and only the tools change. Steady work, for a town built along one busy road.
