About Joe & Co. Lawn Maintenance

South of the parkway the ground turns sandy — the old outwash running down toward Jamaica Bay — and grass out here grows on its own terms. Joe & Co. Lawn Maintenance knows what an August afternoon does to a Howard Beach lawn when the heat sits still and the bay air comes in thick and salted: it takes steady mowing at the right height, edges held straight, trimming along the fence, and a swept walk to keep a yard looking kept. Spring cleanups clear out the winter's sand and grit; fall cleanups take the leaves before the wind moves them next door. There is a particular pleasure in a green rectangle holding its own two blocks from the water. That pleasure is the whole job.
