Late on an August evening the lawns above Lake Oscawana hold the last of the light longer than the water does, and every mowing line reads gold from the road. B & B Landscaping Co cuts a lot of that shoreline — steep little yards that run down toward docks, banks that need trimming by hand, beds edged so the mulch stops in a clean curve instead of bleeding into the grass. Lake properties are their own puzzle: shade on one side, full sun on the other, and grass that grows at two different speeds. Spring and fall cleanups reset the whole thing, clearing what the winter and the hardwoods leave behind.
