Ashley's Snowplowing & Removal works those bands — driveways plowed open, snowbanks pushed back before they close in, walks and steps shoveled and treated so ice never gets a hold. In this corner of the county a storm is measured less in inches than in trips back, and the route is built to be run again at midnight and again at daybreak. Anglers heading for the river and neighbors heading for work all need bare ground, not a footpath. It is straightforward winter work, and there is no shortage of it here.
