In July the town of Providence is all hayfield and hemlock, the Adirondack foothills going blue toward the north and the grass growing fast after every thunderstorm. Upstate Scapes LLC keeps up with it — mowing week by week, trimming around posts, stone and outbuildings, beds turned out and topped with mulch, hedges held back from the porch. Country lots run big and irregular here, so the cut gets planned around the ledge, the ditch line and the shade under the old maples.
