April in Pound Ridge arrives quietly: the Cross River running full, ferns pushing up in the shade, the lawn waking unevenly under a winter's worth of leaf litter. The Organic Yard opens those yards for the season with cleanups, borders raked and topped with mulch, and a first cut once the ground has firmed enough to hold a mower.
