North of the city the Town of Deerpark rises into hills where a driveway can run a couple hundred feet uphill from the road. Kreck Contracting plows that country out of Port Jervis, working the steep approaches around Cuddebackville and Huguenot when February gets serious. Getting somebody off a hill after eight inches takes the right angle and a little patience. The job ends with a clean turnaround at the top and a shoulder to push the next storm into. Up there, once the sky opens behind a storm, you can see all the way down the valley.
