About Hamm's Nursery Landscape Design

Penn Yan sits where the eastern arm of Keuka Lake comes to an end, and the Keuka Outlet slips away from the village toward Seneca Lake through a ravine lined with old mill ruins. Around it lie vineyard slopes and the orderly farms of Yates County's Mennonite community, where horse-drawn buggies share the back roads with tractors. Hamm's Nursery Landscape Design works within that cultivated landscape, pairing a nursery's plants with landscape design and lawn care for the village's yards. Spring is planting season in every sense here, and a new bed set beside clipped turf feels in step with the rows on the hillsides. The aim is a yard that looks grown rather than placed, rooted as deeply as the vines.
