About Tioga Gardens

Owego's older name is often given as the place where the valley widens, and you feel the truth of that every spring when the light comes back across the flats all at once. Tioga Gardens works the lawns of that valley — mowing, trimming, edging along walks and bed lines, and the cleanup rounds that open the season in April and close it out in November. There's a moment in early May when the grass finally has real color in it and a first cut turns a tired yard into a finished one inside twenty minutes; that never gets old. Through the summer it's steadier and far less dramatic, week upon week, the lawn kept at an even height and the borders kept honest. A yard tended that way reads as calm, and calm is a genuine thing to hand somebody.
