About River's Edge Landscaping LLC

April in Owego arrives with the Susquehanna running high and brown, and the low ground beside it holds water a good week longer than the rest of town. River's Edge Landscaping LLC opens its season right there — spring cleanups first, raking off the winter's wreckage, clearing beds and fence lines, then the first cuts once the ground firms up enough to carry a mower. Floodplain soil grows grass like nothing else once it wakes, which means the mowing, trimming and edging never really let up until October. The trick is knowing which yards to stay off of and for how long, because a wrong tire track in April is still legible in June. Get that right and the season starts the way it ought to: everything cleared, the first stripes laid down, green coming on fast.
