About Otego Sales & Services

Otego lies on the flats where the Susquehanna makes its slow turn, and on summer mornings the river fog sits in the valley until the sun clears the hills and burns it off. Otego Sales & Services keeps lawns through the village and up the roads around it — mowing, trimming, edging, spring cleanup and leaf work when the hillsides let go in October. Bottomland grass along the river grows thick and takes a sharp blade, while the hill lots dry faster and want a different cut height by August. Riverside yards get a wide mow that follows the curve of the ground instead of fighting it. The valley cools early in the evening, and a fresh-cut lawn on the flats holds that smell right through dusk.
