The docks at the port work all season — grain, cargo, the long low shape of a ship easing past the breakwall — and the town keeps its own kind of order on shore. Port City Lawns handles the shoreside part: mowing, trimming, edging, and the spring and fall cleanups that reset a yard twice a year. Oswego stays green longer than most places this far inland, thanks to all that water, and that means more cuts rather than fewer. Every visit ends with the clippings off the pavement and the borders drawn. It is a working town, and the yards along it show it.
