In the blue hour before a February sunrise, the stadium lights stand off in the distance like a small city and Big Tree Road is a white ribbon nobody has touched yet. JM's Plowing & Landscape is out in it, pushing driveways and lots open, clearing walks, laying salt where the ice has set up. Come May the blade comes off and the work turns green — mowing, trimming, edging and cleanups on the very same properties, in daylight, at a friendlier hour. Two different jobs, one list of addresses, and one standard: leave the place open, tidy, and better than it was found. Orchard Park, Lackawanna, Hamburg and West Seneca are all on the loop.
