About Don & Jon Lawnmowing & Tree

By mid-June the grass here grows faster than a weekend can keep up with, and the old hedgerow maples throw shade that keeps half a yard soft and green while the other half bakes. Don & Jon Lawnmowing & Tree takes both halves, mowing and trimming on the ground and handling the tree work that keeps a limb from leaning where it shouldn't. There is a particular pleasure in the last pass of an afternoon, when the lines lie straight and the clippings are swept off the drive and the whole place looks chosen rather than merely maintained. Wayne County heat is a humid, green-smelling thing, and the crew drinks water in the shade of the trees they just cleaned up. Then the trailer gate goes up and the next yard is waiting.
