The name says patrol, and that is close to what a storm night actually is: a loop, run and re-run, while the flakes keep coming. Collingwood Snow Patrol plows and shovels across Ontario, working driveways and walks along roads that ride up and over the long glacial hills of Wayne County. Those hills matter, because a north slope holds what a south slope has already given up, and the same street can need two different passes. Between two and five in the morning the town belongs to the plows and the deer, and every mailbox becomes a landmark. Come daylight the only proof of the night is a row of driveways cut square to the road.
