Wind comes off Oneida Lake with nothing to slow it down, and by the time it reaches town it carries either lake smell or lake snow, depending on the month. Nick's Landscaping is built for both — mowing, trimming, edging, mulching and seasonal cleanups through the growing half, then driveway and lot plowing, cleared walks and salted steps through the other. Summer evenings out toward Sylvan Beach hold their light until nearly nine, which makes for long days and lawns that get finished right rather than fast. Winter takes it all back at four in the morning, and that's fine; the blade is already on.
