Moonstead Land Clearing

About Moonstead Land Clearing

Back where the town of Olive runs out toward Samsonville and Krumville, a field will go to goldenrod and sapling in a hurry if nobody argues with it. Moonstead Land Clearing takes on that kind of work — brush and overgrowth mowing, rough lots knocked back down to grass, then regular mowing and trimming once the ground is worth keeping. The satisfaction is particular to this job: walking a lot at morning through chest-high growth and standing in it at dusk with the shape of the land visible again. Old stone walls turn up that way, and grade, and the line where somebody's lawn used to end. Catskill land does not stay open on its own, and keeping it open is honest work.
