Denner and Sons

About Denner and Sons

Where the Oswegatchie slides in under the bridges and gives itself to the St. Lawrence, evening comes on slow and green. Denner and Sons keeps the lawns along those streets — regular mowing, string trimming around fences and foundations, edging, and cleanups that carry off what winter left in the beds. It is unglamorous work with an obvious reward: you can stand at the curb at seven o'clock, with the light going gold, and see exactly what the day was worth. Grass in Ogdensburg grows hard and fast in the few warm months, so the rhythm of the visits matters more than the effort in any one of them. Homes and small properties across the city and out through Heuvelton, Rensselaer Falls and Canton are welcome on the route.
