About Extravagant Landscaping

By mid-October the hillsides above Norwich turn the color of struck brass, and the dairy barns out past the village edge start to look like they are bracing for something. Extravagant Landscaping meets the whole arc of that — mowing, trimming and cleanups while the ground is still soft, then plowing, shoveling and ice control once the valley goes hard and white. Fall is the hinge, and it is the busiest, best-smelling stretch of the year: wet leaves, cold soil, the iron smell of a first hard frost. A lawn cut for the last time and a driveway staked for the first are really the same gesture — getting a place ready. That is the whole of the work, done in order, as the season asks.
