Down and Dirty Property Care

About Down and Dirty Property Care

In Norfolk the Raquette River slides north through town, and in June the daylight holds so late that a lawn can be finished at eight in the evening with the sun still up. Down and Dirty Property Care takes the St. Lawrence County mowing season at that pace — cut and trimmed on schedule, walks edged sharp, the walk swept before the gate closes. The growing season is short and intense up here, so nothing gets to sit; a week missed shows immediately. The spring round pulls the wreck of a north country winter off the grass, and autumn's work clears the leaves while the ground still gives. There is real pride in a yard that looks squared away under all that open northern sky.
