Upstream of the falls the river runs fast and glass-green past the western edge of town, and on a June evening you can hear it under everything else. Premier Niagara keeps the yards along those streets on a steady rotation: mowed, trimmed, edged, the walk blown off, the whole visit done in about the time it takes the light to change. Growth is generous around here, and between lake humidity and long days a lawn can put on a week of height in four, so the schedule has to be kept honestly. Spring and fall turn the same routes into cleanups, clearing off what the maples and the cold left behind. What stays with people afterward is small and specific, the straight line at the curb and a yard that looks settled again.
