Tonawanda Creek draws the northern edge of Newstead, and the low, open land beside it takes the weather head-on — thunderheads stacking up in July, whiteouts erasing the fields in January. Bielinski Bros Landscaping works both halves of that: mowing and trimming right through the growing months, then plowing driveways and lots and shoveling walks once the ground goes blank. Open country means drifting, and drifting means coming back, which is simply how it is done out here. In summer the reward is a straight-striped lawn; in winter it is a drive that is clear before the coffee is poured. Same roads, same crew, two very different kinds of morning.
