Out past the airport the land flattens and the wind has room to run, which is a fine thing in July and a serious one in January. Green Acres works both ends of that: mowing, edging, trimming, mulch and seasonal cleanups when the fields are green; plowing, shoveling and ice control when they are not. Long driveways get opened end to end, walks get cut to the pavement, lots get cleared before the day starts. In summer the reward is a broad lawn cut even from one side to the other, no scalped rise, no missed strip. Newburgh and the surrounding towns, all four seasons of it.
