The Great Villa Landscaping

About The Great Villa Landscaping

Newburgh's hillside streets were laid out so the houses could look at the river, and in September that view goes soft and gold by four in the afternoon. The Great Villa Landscaping keeps the terraced lawns above Montgomery Street trimmed to match, mowing on the pitch, edging along stone walls and stair treads, working close to the old plantings, then cleaning up when the season tips over. Cutting a graded yard is a footwork problem before it is a mowing problem, and getting it done without scalping the crown of the slope is the craft of it. Standing at the top afterward, clean edges falling away toward the water, is worth every trip up the hill. That view is the report card, every single time.
