On a February night the Newburgh–Beacon Bridge is a string of lights over black water, and Storm King stands in the dark on the far shore like it is waiting for morning too. Brandon Escobar Landscaping LLC is awake in those hours — plowing drives, clearing walks by hand, laying salt on the steep aprons that turn to glass. By May the same attention goes into grass: weekly mowing, trimmed edges, mulch worked in around the shrubs, cleanups front and back. It is satisfying work in both directions, opening a driveway at four in the morning and leaving a lawn level and striped by noon. Newburgh, and the towns that share its weather.
