About Empire Enterprises JKB Inc

At three in the morning the light at the edge of Newark blinks yellow to nobody at all, and that is exactly the hour Empire Enterprises JKB Inc is already out in it. Storefront lots, loading aprons, the long entrance drives out along the Route 88 corridor — each one has to be scraped, stacked and salted before the first car of the day turns in. Shovels finish what a truck cannot: the steps, the door fans, the strip of walk that ices first because it never sees sun. When a storm runs all day, the route gets run again, and again, so nothing has a chance to pack down into a rut. The reward is a clean black surface at opening time and somebody walking to their door without ever thinking about their feet.
