About Sammy and Lucas Landscaping Corp.

Around seven on a midsummer evening the light over Flowers Park goes gold and sidelong, and every mowing stripe on the ball field stands out like corduroy. Sammy and Lucas Landscaping Corp. takes the same care with the ordinary lawns a few streets over — alternating the direction each visit so the grass stands up, keeping the height right for July, trimming close around the fence posts and the hydrant and the one stubborn tree. New Rochelle yards come in every size, and the small ones are often the fussiest, all corners and obstacles. Getting them clean takes patience more than horsepower. The reward is the walk-back at the end: nothing left on the pavement, the borders drawn, the whole property sitting neat in that last hour of light.
