About Mario Bulfamante & Sons

Up at the Twin Lakes end of town the September mornings come with mist standing on the water and the first trucks moving before the fog has burned off the fields. Marenco Lawn Inc. starts its route in that grey half-hour, dew heavy enough to darken a boot, the grass cutting cleanly because it hasn't yet been touched by heat. Lawns in the north of New Rochelle sit on rolling, rocky ground where drainage changes from one side of a yard to the other, and they reward a crew that mows to the contour instead of fighting it. By mid-morning the mist is gone, the properties are striped and edged, and the day rolls on toward the Scarsdale line. It is honest work with an honest result you can see from the road.
