About Emerald Tree & Shrub Care Company

Sutton Manor holds fog longer than the rest of New Rochelle; the sea air rolls up off the water in June evenings and the streetlights come on inside it. Lawns down there carry that dampness in the soil, and Emerald Tree & Shrub Care Company cuts them accordingly — a bit higher, a bit less often in the wet weeks, always with attention to the shaded corners where moss would rather take over. The crew keeps the beds turned, the borders drawn clean, the shrubs shaped back off the windows so the light can get in. Grass this close to the shore never behaves like grass a mile inland, and knowing the difference is most of the job. When the fog lifts the next morning and the yard reads crisp from the sidewalk, the work has said what it needs to say.
