About Anthony Bulfamante & Son Inc

Four in the morning on Quaker Ridge, February, and the plow light swings across a driveway that nobody has walked on yet. Anthony Bulfamante & Son Inc is out in it, pushing the banks back to the hedge line, salting the apron, cutting the walk down to bare pavement so a car can leave at seven without a second thought. That drive cleared before the sky lightens is the whole point of the work. Come May the same properties get the other half of the year — the mowing line held straight, the beds turned, the shrubs kept off the windows. New Rochelle asks for both, a shovel and a mower on the same truck, and the crew keeps a calendar that runs the full circle from the first hard freeze to the last cut of November.
